Good history cruise

The history of the Battle of New Orleans at the site was interesting to experience. The historian on board was passionate about the Hurricane Katrina debacle, Derek.
Charles killed it.

The cruise was very nice, but what really made the trip was Charles. He had very interesting and insightful historical knowledge. He pretty much ruined all other tours we took after this because he was so good. The cruise was nice and peaceful, nothing too crazy.
Great and Educational Experience!

Awesome experience. Love how knowledgeable host Charles is. We had a great time and my daughter learned about history of New Orleans and the challenges after Hurricane Katrina.

The announcer/guide was very good. They should announce to the line at entry that they cannot accept tickets on the phone, but fun ride once onboard.
A bit underwhelming…

After exiting the outlet mall, my wife and I noticed the boat ticket booth and advertisements for a dinner cruise. We decided, on a whim, to take the 2:30 dinner cruise after speaking with a very kind ticket sales representative. After reading a few reviews, we decided to take the cruise on this very beautiful weather day.
We got in line at about 2:10, which was simply too late to take advantage of the only decent seating on the boat - the top deck pavilion. The good seating went amazingly fast. We were left with sitting on a simple wooden bench, watching as scores of people couldn’t find a seat at all. My first suggestion: if you want to enjoy a beautiful day on the river cruise, get there at least 30 minutes in advance.
The food was pretty bland, and not worth the buffet ticket price. They actually ran out of many items fairly early. If you don’t want to eat the food, you are out of luck. There is no snack bar on board, except for drinks at the bar.
There were two types of staff that came to work that day-those that were fantastic with customer service and those that were, well, simply angry.
The tour guide was excellent. We really liked the history and humor she provided. The bar workers were also fantastic, very kind and accommodating.
The deck hands were simply rude and seemed pretty “put out” by there being customers on the boat.
The tour of the battlefield was interesting, as were those that turned the top deck into a dance floor.
Overall, I suppose I’d do it again if the weather was nice, if I got in line early to get good seating and brought my own snacks.
