You will be introduced to your captain and briefed quickly on procedure inside of the Airboat. Once everyone in the group is prepared to take off you captain will rev the engine.
This particular airport is powered by a 454 Chevy Engine that's capable of accelerating to speeds as high as 35 miles per hour. The boat is propelled by a large fan behind the boat which can deliver wind speeds of over 200 miles per hour. This tour is fast and loud!
Your tour guide will bring you from location to location around the swamp and make frequent stops for you to have encounters with the wildlife. Chances are you'll probably have some reptilian visitors. The alligators have no problems making their way to the side of the boat and showing off for the visitors. After the tour of the swamp is complete you will be returned to the original departure location to make your way back to New Orleans.

Excellent trip with Jason. Very informative and knowledgeable tour guide. Loved the conservation focus. Exactly what we were looking for in a swamp tour. Bring a rain jacket.
Incredible Swamp Trip

Matt was amazing. This was such a great tour! I would highly recommend it to anyone. Matt was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the swamp. He also is an expert airboat pilot. We all loved the way he did 360s in the water and sped full force at 40 mph. Every question he was asked he was able to answer and always had a great sense of humor. Bundle up. It can get cold on the water. Even though most alligators were hibernating, we still saw 3 and also got to hold a baby alligator, which was truly the highlight of the trip. Matt also stopped towards the end of the tour to do a family photo at the head of the boat. Great afternoon, well organized and super fun for our two teen boys, my husband and I. Don't sign up with any other company and definitely take the small group Airboat Swamp Tour. You won't be disappointed! By the way the alligators are more abundant in the summer months!
We absolutely loved it!!

We went during December and it was cold. We bundled up with scarves, beanies, and gloves. They rent blankets if you needed added layers and also sell gloves and beanies if you forget yours. Everyone from the ticket attendants to the gift shop workers and to our Captain, Matt were fantastic. We chose to take the small air boat. We absolutely loved the information Matt gave us. So interesting and entertaining. We saw alligators even though it was cold. We saw cranes, a bald eagle nest, and also a bald eagle flew over. We regret not having cash on us to give Matt a tip so if you go make sure to take some cash for a gratuity. Matt really deserved it. The blast ride was fantastic, fast at times, and it was amazing. I am pretty sure my two teenagers actually smiled and they actually raved about it afterwards. Thank you for your hospitality!!
Perfect activity in NOLA! Captain Jason is the best!

Captain Jason was beyond words great and is a true professional and nature lover - we loved that he really took the time to explain the different habitats we drove through (swamp, marsh, lake,…) and the ecological (sad and very concerning) impacts due to different events and reasons, as well as explaining the different species in a very detailed, professional and loving way. We appreciated also that he didn’t disturb the wildlife although, we had a blast, riding the airboat! Absolute must-do in Louisiana/NOLA!! Thank you, Captain Jason…thank you also for your humour - this was a perfect experience!
